A Glance at the All New 2021 Nissan Sentra

Few other compact vehicles offer the sophisticated styling and straightforward practicality of the 2021 Nissan Sentra. Following a complete revamp last year, this current year model continues to deliver much of what buyers expect and desire from a four-door compact sedan. That includes the excessively handsome exterior styling that continues to incorporate the floating roof motif that has become a mainstay across the entire Nissan lineup. This remarkably bold styling choice is capped off with an expressive front fascia that highlights the compact sedan’s mature yet energetic vibe. For 2021, the sedan comes in three distinct flavors – a standard S trim, a midlevel SV trim with features like 16-inch alloy wheels and remote start, and a sporty SR trim that offers larger 18-inch alloys and distinct trim features like a dark chrome front grille.  Despite having three available trim levels, the 2021 Nissan Sentra shares a single engine among all three in the form of the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder. The efficient and responsive powerplant routes its 149 horsepower through the Xtronic continuously variable transmission for greater fuel efficiency and smoother performance, resulting in an impressive EPA-estimated 29 mpg city and 39 mpg highway for the S and SV trims. The sportier SR trim offers slightly lower fuel economy figures at 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway. All trims also feature an independent rear multi-link suspension that bridges the gap between responsive handling and a smooth, comfortable ride without creating any unwanted compromises.

New Features

After dazzling buyers with an all-new interior for last year, the 2021 Nissan Sentra follows up with a bevy of new features that enhance overall comfort, convenience and styling. Satin chrome aluminum accents lend an air of sophistication to an impressively handsome interior. Advanced Zero Gravity front and rear seats deliver exceptional comfort for all five occupants, especially on those long road trips. The midlevel SV trim wraps these space-age seats in your choice of either premium cloth or quilted leather, while the top-tier SR trim offers exciting Sport Cloth trim or an available Prima-Tex seat fabric, both with contrast orange stitching for a dynamic look. In between the two analog instrument cluster gauges on most models is a 7-inch LCD display that puts a variety of vehicle information right in front of the driver. Meanwhile, an available 8-inch full-color display sits front and center, ready to provide both driver and front passenger with a variety of multimedia and navigation options. Tech-savvy travelers can stream their favorite music wirelessly with the help of built-in Bluetooth connectivity or enjoy a more integrated experience courtesy of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Passengers up front can not only plug in their compatible devices via the standard USB and available USB Type-C port for charging and connectivity, but rear seat passengers can also make use of an available USB port in the back.

Safety Features

As you’d expect from an advanced compact sedan, the 2021 Nissan Sentra puts safety at the forefront with a variety of standard and optional features. These features include:

  • A blind spot warning system that alerts you to vehicles lingering in hard-to-see areas
  • A lane departure warning system with haptic feedback response that helps detect and prevent unintentional lane drift, and
  • A convenient rearview backup camera that lets you spot and avoid obstacles while backing out of parking spaces.

These and many other features, including an automatic emergency braking system with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, and high beam headlight assist, come available as part of the Safety Shield 360 suite. Buyers also have access to other optional safety and driver assist equipment, including an Intelligent Cruise Control system that automatically maintains a set distance from vehicles ahead and a forward collision warning system capable of watching the car ahead of the one you’re following to help predict and prevent frontal collisions. You can also get a 360-degree bird’s eye view of your vehicle’s surroundings thanks to the available Intelligent Around View Monitor, which also includes rear and curbside views for easier parking and fewer wheel scuffs.
